The BLACK BOX® Automatic Switching System gives you individual and full gang switching control without the expense of a fully automated network management system.

A typical Automatic Switching System includes a rackmount chassis, a control card, 1 or 2 power supplies, and up to 16 switching interface cards. With our large selection of cards, you can change systems easily—simply pop in a different card. It's that simple! Mix and match the cards in any variety you need.

We've designed the system for easy setup. The hot-swappable cards plug right into the back of the chassis. There are no wires to disconnect, and you don't have to power down to make changes to the system.

If 16 cards aren't enough, it's time to daisychain! You can link up to 64 Automatic Switching System chassis—that's up to 2048 switching channels under 1 controller! And using the Automatic Rack Chassis Configuration Software, you can control groups within one or more Automatic Rack Chassis systems with point-and-click ease from a Windows® PC.

And we offer Web Browser, SNMP, ASCII, and Manual (Local) Control Cards in our list of options, so you can add industry-standard management, too. These cards enable you to manage the system from a remote PC connected to it through the RS-232 port, a LAN (10/100), and the Web.

The additions to the Automatic Switching System family include the SVGA Video Card, which supports high-resolution video.

Buying Tips

NOTE: A single SM535A provides redundant power for up to eight connected chassis. In this daisychain configuration, it attaches to the master chassis.
