The WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM programming tool, named WAGO-I/O-PRO CAA, offers a built-in HMI screen editor. This built-in editor allows the data of the programmed controller to be easily displayed on a standard PC, as well as other operator interface hardware.

The editor does not require a tag list, as it accesses variables directly from the controller and uses graphic elements to display this data. Since communication takes place via the same mechanisms used for programming, no OPC or DDE configuration is necessary. This close linkage between the HMI and programming editor allows several operating modes, such as direct in the programming system under Windows, via web browser, and target visualization, in which a conventional display on a PC with a monitor is no longer required. Furthermore, the HMI screens can run in all three modes, without modification and in parallel, making access to HMI screens easy.

The WAGO-I/O-PRO CAA, part number 759-333, is an IEC 61131 compliant programming tool for the family of WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM controllers. Offered at just $750.00 list for a site license, this tool comes standard with all five IEC 61131 languages, as well as the built-in HMI editor.
